Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Hometown-Shanghai

Upon arrival in Shanghai, transfer to the hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be at yours to enjoy.

Day 2: Shanghai-Yangtze River Cruise (B/L)

In the morning, visit Xintiandi. It is unique because of its concept of construction. It retains the antique walls, tiles and exterior of the Shikumen housing of old Shanghai. When you walk into it, you will get the taste of both Shanghai in the 1920’s and the sonic modern lifestyle of urbanites of the 21st century. Afterwards, head to Nanjing Road, China’s premier shopping street. Today it is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Dinner is not included.

Day 3: Yangtze River Cruise-Suzhou (B/L/D)

In the morning, depart from the cruise and head to Suzhou. Visit the Lion Grove Garden. Covering an area of about 2.7 acres, Lion Grove Garden is an ideal sightseeing site as it has richly ornamental pavilions and towers in different styles; each has its own history and story. After lunch head to Ping Jiang historical block, a symbol of Suzhou ancient city. When you walk in the Pingjiang historical block, the road was still the old paved roads; the river was still green and clear and the residence was still as quiet as before. Walking on the Pingjiang road, you can see all the scenery was as beautiful as a painting. Later, visit Hanshan Temple.It is also a Buddhism temple. The statue of the Buddhist patriarch Sakyamuni is there for people to make offerings to in the Grand Prayer Hall. Until now, the temple is one of the most important places to hold Buddhism activities. Return back to the cruise ship for dinner.

Day 4: Yangtze River Cruise-Yangzhou(B/L/D)

This morning, start your day with a visit to the Slender West Lake, the heart and soul of Yangzhou. Slender West Lake is a man-made lake where beautiful views and historic points coexist. The lake is filled with beautiful attractions such as its popular Rainbow Bridge, White Pagoda and vibrant lush gardens. Afterwards, continue to visit Yangzhou 486 Intangible Cultural Heritages Center to learn and experience authentic traditional art forms originating from the city. Continue to the Dongguan Street. Return back to the boat for dinner.

Day 5: Yangtze River Cruise-Nanjing(B/L/D)

In the morning, head to the Niushou Mountain, containing a cultural park dedicated to displaying and preserving the mountain’s cultural treasures that date back centuries. Discover beautiful sceneries that exhibit priceless cultural artifacts surrounded in lush greenery. Afterward, visit the Confucius Temple dedicated to worshipping China’s most influential philosopher, Confucius. Originally, the temple was constructed in the year of 1034 in the Song Dynasty (420-589). It suffered repeated damage and has been rebuilt on several occasions since that time. Take a break to explore the area around Nanjing Confucius Temple and stop by a series of tourist shops, snack bars, restaurants and tea cafes built Ming and Qing architectural style.

Day 6: Yangtze River Cruise-Huangshan(B/L/D)

Today, take a full day trip to Yellow Mountain, the most iconic mountains of the Anhui Province. It is famed for its stunning and peculiar natural sceneries composed of four wonders, namely unique guest-greeting pines, absurd stones, sea of clouds, as well as high peaks, particular forest and glacial landforms. The near 40,000 acre park boasts not only attracting scenery but also abundant resources and a great variety of zoological species, for which it has been listed as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site. You will visit the North & West Sea Scenic Zone of the mountain. Enjoy lunch at the top of Huangshan before heading back. In the evening, participate in the show on board.

Day 7: Yangtze River Cruise-Jiujiang(B/L/D)

In the morning, visit the White Deer Grotto Academy. Rebuilt during the Song Dynasty, it turned into a center for Neo-Confucianism. Scholars from all around China (and some from as far as Korea) came to study in the peaceful and secluded school, considered one of the Four Great Academ17 dayies of China. Return back to the cruise and the afternoon will be yours to enjoy.

Day 8: Yangtze River Cruise-Wuhan=Luoyang(B)

This morning, the cruise disembarks in Wuhan. After breakfast, take a high-speed train to Luoyang. Visit Longmen Grottoes, a World UNESCO Heritage Site. One of China’s four famous ancient grottoes, the site hosts the largest and most impressive display of Chinese art in the late Wei and Tang Dynasties. Containing statues that stand 50 feet tall and covering an area of 7.4 acres that took over 400 years to build, the Longmen Caves are of great value to the history of world sculpture. UNESCO states that the site is “an outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity”. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Day 9: Luoyang-Shaolin-Luoyang(B/L)

Today, visit Shaolin Temple, reputed as “the Number One Temple under Heaven”. Dating back to the Northern Wei Dynasty (386 – 534), the temple was included on UNESCO’s World Cultural & Natural Heritage List in 2010. It is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism and the Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel. Dinner is not included.

Day 10: Luoyang=Xi’an(B/L)

In the morning, take a high-speed train to Xian. Upon arrival, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. In the afternoon, pass by the Bell Tower and visit the Ancient City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Dinner is not included.

Day 11: Xi’an(B/L)

In the morning, visit the famous Terra Cotta Warrior Museum. It is a super large collection of life-size terra cotta sculptures in battle formations, reproducing the mega imperial guard troops of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the first unified dynasty of Imperial China. Being the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Terracotta Army is no doubt a must-see for every visitor to Xian. In the afternoon, visit the Shaanxi History Museum, regarded as ‘the pearl of ancient dynasties and house of Chinese treasures’, gives a miniature overview of the thousands of years of Chinese history and the splendid ancient cultures of olden times. Dinner is not included.

Day 12: Xi’an=Linfen(B/L)

After breakfast, take high speed train to Linfen. Upon arrival, see the Hukou Waterfall, the only yellow waterfall in the world and the second largest waterfall in China. It is a naturally formed waterfall when the mighty Yellow River, the mother river of China, flows through Jinxia Grand Canyon on its middle reaches. The scene can be overwhelming, water stirs up masses of smoke and clouds, with color turning from yellow to grey, grey to blue. The locals call this awesome scenery “smoke from river”. Over history, a number of prominent poets and painters once traveled here. Wowing at the grand view, they left numerous works giving high honor of the waterfall. Dinner is not included.

Day 13: Linfen-Ancient City of Pingyao(B/L)

In the morning, proceed to Lingshi. Visit the Wang Family Compound. It is a luxurious residence built during 1762-1811 by the descendants of the Wang Family, one of the Four Families of the Qing Dynasty in Shanxi Province. It is not only an example of residential architecture, but also a museum of architectural art. This grand compound has been used as a film site for many of the China drama series. Dinner is not included.

Day 14: Ancient City of Pingyao=Beijing(B/L)

This morning, take a tour in Pingyao. This small county was noted for some magnificent residences in ancient traditional styles rather than any appeal in natural beauty. See the Old City Government and Rishengchang Former Bank, one of the earliest exchange shops in China. This afternoon, take a high-speed train to Beijing. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Dinner is not included.

Day 15: Beijing(B/L)

In the morning, visit the famous Great Wall of China. You will visit the Juyong Pass of the Wall, one of the three famous passes, was a solid stronghold encircling a valley. Enjoy a walk on the wall and seeing rugged mountain scenery as it is beautiful, and the fort and perimeter wall have been restored to their original glory. The Wall was listed as a World UNESCO Heritage site in 1987. Later, head to the Olympic Park where the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games took place. The park was designed to contact ten venues, the Olympic Village, and other supporting facilities. See the Bird’s Nest, the National Stadium, which is situated in Olympic Green Village. Transfer back to the hotel and the remaining of the day will be yours to enjoy or opt for an optional tour. Dinner is not included.
